I'm super into early 20th century tattooed ladies right now. I just bought the book Bodies of Subversion, which talks about tattooed women and female tattooists starting with Victorian circus ladies and going up through the 1980s and early 90s (although only the first two chapters or so--up to the 1950s--is of much interest to me). The pictures of the circus ladies are so so amazing. I just bought a print of the photo above for my apartment. That woman is like my new style icon.
